The design was originally conceived to meet the energy needs of those living in rural areas, due to poor access to electricity and also as a model for gym centers and cycle workout studios. Most persons living in these rural areas possess at least a cell phone but lack the means to charge them. This study focused on the design and fabrication of a pedal operated power generator, for the intents of burning fats while yet generating electricity. The power generator was designed to be simple, cheap, durable and easily maintained. It was fabricated using locally sourced materials and is intended to encourage local ingenuity and empower aspiring entrepreneurs especially in developing countries. Its purpose is to efficiently transfer human foot motion less than 60 rpm via a treadle and sprocket-chain step-up to drive a 12V DC permanent magnet generator. The inverter converts the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) which is needed to charge low voltage devices like mobile phones, laptops etc.\r\nINTRODUCTION\r\nIn today\u2019s world when the advancement in technology is at its peak and the impact of these technology over the human health is also point of concern. As the technology is advancing the physical activities are getting reduced. This in turn is not a good sign. In Indian urban areas people use bicycle very rarely and also they had become slave to their electronic gadgets. They are spoiling their health over them. But if they use the portable cycle mob charger it would encourage them to do more physical exercises through cycling. During cycling they can enjoy their gadgets such as phone, tablets, GPS etc. In rural areas due to unscheduled power cutoff people don\u2019t have any mode of Communication so in that case this portable cycle mob charger is the solution. Now, Why pedaling for electricity. The cost of one KWh as your electricity company sells is Rs 5 in my place and earning this through pedal power would take me 5 hours. Not much of an incentive to think about pedal generators. Still the need for pedal power generation seems to exist, as frequent e-mail requests tell me. Ill, pedal power can be made available anywhere, it requires no fuel, is available both day and night, the equipment is inexpensive and needs almost no maintenance.\r\n\r\nAddresses three key use cases:\r\n\r\n1. Charging batteries for small, portable devices while traveling on a bicycle\r\n\r\n2.\u00a0Generating as much electrical Power as possible on a stationary pedal generator\r\n\r\n3. Powering up Electronic devices using the concept of cycle dynamo on stationary mode.\r\n\r\n bicycle electricity generator\r\nWORKING PRINCIPLE\r\nPrinciple of Dynamo An electrical generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, generally using electromagnetic induction. The source of mechanical energy may be a reciprocating or turbine steam engine, water falling through a turbine or waterwheel, an internal combustion engine, a wind turbine, a hand crank, or any other source of mechanical energy. The Dynamo was the first electrical generator capable of delivering power for industry. The dynamo uses electromagnetic principles to convert mechanical rotation into an alternating electric current. A dynamo machine consists of a stationary structure which generates a strong magnetic field, and a set of rotating windings which turn within that field. On small machines the magnetic field may be provided by a permanent magnet; larger machines have the magnetic field created by electromagnets. The energy conversion in generator is based on the principle of the production of dynamically induced emf. Whenever a conductor cuts magnetic flux, dynamically induced emf is produced in it according to Faraday's Laws of Electromagnetic induction. This emf causes a current to flow if the conductor circuit is closed. Hence, two basic essential parts of an electrical generator are (i) a magnetic field and (ii) a conductor or conductors which can so move as to cut the flux.\r\n\r\nADVANTAGES &amp; DISADVANTAGES\r\n\r\nPortable- it is a portable device which is easily detachable and attachable.\r\n1. No operating cost- it requires only mechanical work so free of any operating cost.\r\n2. Economical- it is free source of electricity, though it require some mechanical work which can be done in any leisure time so it is economical\r\n3. Health improving- Cycling makes one to be fit and healthy.\r\n4. Eco-friendly- Doesn\u2019t emit any kind of harmful substances so it is eco friendly.\r\n5. Robust and simple circuit- This circuit requires only five components which are small in size and robust. This makes it simple in design.\r\n6. Very low maintenance-No need of maintenance as devices are very cheap.\r\n7. Better performance on Li-ion battery: In today\u2019s time the most of the phones use Li-ion battery in their phones so this is necessary for us to give better performance in those but still it\u2019s a disadvantage that it doesn\u2019t give optimal performance on other batteries.\r\n8. Frictional losses: The frictional losses occur because of friction between motor wheel &amp; cycle wheel.\r\n9. High speed disadvantage\r\nCONCLUSION\r\nIn conclusion, this project was designed to serve as a model\/prototype to meet specific need in our locality. The device can also serve as an alternative power source in extreme case scenario even in urban centers. Since the device is manually operated, it can be used in areas where there is no power supply and would always be readily available.\r\nThe device is environmentally friendly as it produces no waste in the process of its operation, and the device work with little or no noise. It aims in classifying the coloured objects which are coming on the conveyor by picking and placing the objects in its respective pre-programmed place. Thereby eliminating the monotonous work done by human, achieving accuracy and speed in the work. The project involves colour sensors that senses the object\u2019s colour and sends the signal to the microcontroller. The microcontroller sends signal to eight relay circuit which drives the various motors of the robotic arm to grip the object and place it in the specified location. Based upon the colour detected, the robotic arm moves to the specified location, releases the object and comes back to the original potion.\r\n\r\nSENSING CIRCUIT:\r\n\r\nThis circuit can be used to sense and differentiate between different colours. This circuit demonstrates the principle and operation of a simple colour sensor using LDR. The circuit is divided into three parts: Detector (LDR), Comparator and Output. When light of a particular colour falls on LDR, its resistance decreases and an output voltage is produced. This voltage is dependent on the intensity and wavelength of\r\ndifferent colour. For it is needed to set reference voltage of comparator according to the requirement.\r\nFor example, If set reference voltage at positive pin with 0.38volts, the LDR becomes sensitive to blue light. When blue light falls on the LED, an output of approximate voltage 0.28V is produced, this glows the output LED.\r\nTRANSFORMER:\r\nBy appropriate selection of the ratio of turns, a transformer thus allows an alternating current (AC) voltage to be \"stepped up\" by making Ns greater than Np, or \"stepped down\" by making Ns less than Np. Here, the 230volts power supply from the mains if transformed by a 12-0-12V step-down centre tap transformer. This AC voltage is needed to be converted to DC for supplying it to controllers and DC motors.\r\nA transformer is a static device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another through inductively coupled conductors\u2014the transformer's coils. A varying current in the first or primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the transformer's core and thus a varying magnetic field through the secondary winding. This varying magnetic field induces a varying electromotive force (EMF) or \"voltage\" in the secondary winding. This effect is called mutual induction.\r\nEXPERIMENTAL SETUP\r\nCONVEYOR SYSTEM\r\nFRAMES\r\nStandard gravity conveyor frame widths are 305mm, 460mm and 610mm overall. Conveyor frames are stocked in both 1.5 metre and 3 metre lengths. Frames are supplied with either \u201cbutting plates\u201d (standard) or hook and bar attachments to secure each\r\nsegment together.\r\nStandard frames are supplied in a \u201chammer tone\u201d blue spray painted finish. They are available in PVC (25kg capacity), Black Steel and Galvanised Steel in both Medium Duty (140kg capacity) and Heavy Duty (200kg capacity) versions to suit varying loads or conditions. Stainless steel rollers for wash-down or corrosive applications are used. Spring loaded axles slot into holes along the frame. On PVC and Medium Duty\r\nrollers one end is a D shape whilst the other is round. This allows for easy replacement of damaged rollers. Heavy Duty rollers are supplied with 12mm shafts. Precision or stainless steel bearings are available for frame work.\r\n\r\nSUPPORTS\r\n\r\nTwo types of standard supports are available. Both styles provide adjustment from 600 \u2013 1000mm to \u201cTop of Roller\u201d. Other support styles and complete frames are used to special support. RHS Supports are bolted to the underside of the conveyor frame via a crescent (smiley) plate. This plate provides allowance for any angular misalignment.\r\n\r\nBELT CONVEYOR\r\n\r\nA conveyor style utilizes a flat belt running on a flat fabricated steel deck or over rollers. They are used where smooth and quiet transport of product is desirable, and is ideally suited to irregular shaped product that cannot easily be moved on other conveyor styles.\r\nExamples of applications other than cartons or tote bins would be the movement of floppy sacks or satchels, bags of powder or flour, or raw food products. This is an excellent conveyor for handling items that may have loose strings or tapes attached that would otherwise get caught in other conveyor styles.\r\nCONVEYOR SYSTEM\r\nFigure shows the overview of conveyor system.\r\n\r\n conveyor system\r\nROBOTIC ARM\r\nDrill a hole in the base 8 cm from the front and to the side so the disk is close to one side. This will leave room for the piston that moves it on the other side. Cut a 4 cm dowel and glue it in the base. Slide the disk over the dowel and glue down the 2.5 cm piece over the disk. This way the disk will rotate, but not come off.\r\nThe right side of the support structure has two screw eyes; the one on the inside is big enough for the syringe tube and is 2.5 cm up from the bottom. It is incontestable, statistically proved fact, that year on year incidents involving a reversing vehicle account for between 20-30% of all reported work related serious injuries or fatalities.\r\n\r\n While parking or taking reverse turn, driver unable to see what is behind the vehicle and obviously up to what distance, eventually vehicle strike with the obstacle behind. Presently, cars have the alarm system where when the car gets too close to an object an alarm is triggered which warns the driver about an object close by. But this feature has produced lot of problems and is prone to human error. We have enhanced the facility by using the same system but we have altered it so that the car brakes automatically when an obstacle is close by. This report introduces a control systems based on electronically controlled automotive braking system is called \u201cIntelligent Reverse Braking System\u201d. \r\n\r\nA Sensor Operated Pneumatic Brake consists of IR transmitter and Receiver circuit, Control Unit, Pneumatic breaking system. The IR sensor is used to detect the obstacle. If there is any obstacle in the path, the IR sensor senses the obstacle and giving the control signal to the breaking system. The pneumatic breaking system is used to brake the system. So basically here the car brakes on its own by determining the distance from the object.\r\nINTRODUCTION\r\nAn intelligent reverse braking system is compiled with IR sensor circuit which operates a pneumatic braking system. The main target for this project is cars can run reverse automatic braking due to obstacles when the sensor senses the obstacles. The braking circuit function is to brake the car automatically after received signal from the sensor. This mainly concern in replacement of human effort by the mechanical braking. So it is the best safety feature for the vehicles.\r\n\r\n The pneumatically braking system stops the vehicle in 2 to 3 seconds when running speed is of 50 kmph and the distance of stopping the vehicle is 1.6m. The Intelligent braking system is fully automated. To allow the driver to park the vehicle in tight place, it has parking mode system. The heat from the sun coupled with the wind has been used to dry food for preservation for several years.\r\nDrying is the oldest preservation technique of agricultural products and it is an energy intensive process. High prices and shortages of fossil fuels have increased the emphasis on using alternative renewable energy resources. Drying of agricultural products using renewable energy such as solar energy is environmental friendly and has less environmental impact.\r\nDifferent types of solar dryers have been designed, developed and tested in the different regions of the tropics and subtropics. The major two categories of the dryers are natural convection solar dryers and forced convection solar dryers. In the natural convection solar dryers the airflow is established by buoyancy induced airflow while in forced convection solar dryers the airflow is provided by using fan operated either by electricity\/solar module or fossil fuel.\r\nSolar thermal technology is a technology that is rapidly gaining acceptance as an energy saving measure in agriculture application. It is preferred to other alternative sources of energy such as wind and shale, because it is abundant, inexhaustible, and non-polluting. Solar air heaters are simple devices to heat air by utilizing solar energy and it is employed in many applications requiring low to moderate temperature below 80\u00b0C, such as crop drying and space heating.\r\nProblem Statement\r\nFood scientists have found that by reducing the moisture content of food to between 10 and 20%, bacteria, yeast, mold and enzymes are prevented from spoiling it. The flavor and most of the nutritional value is preserved and concentrated.\r\nDrying and preservation of agricultural products have been one of the oldest uses of solar energy. The traditional method, still widely used throughout the world, is open sun drying where diverse crops, such as fruits, vegetables, cereals, grains, tobacco, etc. are spread on the ground and turned regularly until sufficiently dried so that they can be stored safely. However, there exist many problems associated with open sun drying. It has been seen that open sun drying has the following disadvantages. It requires both large amount of space and long drying time. The disadvantages of open sun drying need an appropriate technology that can help in improving the quality of the dried products and in reducing the wastage. This led to the application of various types of drying devices like solar dryer, electric dryers, wood fuel driers and oil-burned driers. However, the high cost of oil and electricity and their scarcity in the rural areas of most third world countries have made some of these driers very unattractive. Therefore interest has been focused mainly on the development of solar driers.\r\n\r\nThe orientation of the Solar Collector:\r\n\r\nThe flat-plate solar collector is always tilted and oriented in such a way that it receives maximum solar radiation during the desired season of used. The best stationary orientation is due south in the northern hemisphere and due north in southern hemisphere. Therefore, solar collector in this work is oriented facing south and tilted at 45 to the horizontal. The solar dryer can raise the ambient air temperature to a considerable high value for increasing the drying rate of agricultural crops. The product inside the dryer requires less attentions, like attack of the product by rain or pest (both human and animals), compared with those in the open sun drying. Although the dryer was used to dry Potato, it can be used to dry other crops like yams, cassava, maize and plantain etc. There is ease in monitoring when compared to the natural sun drying technique. The capital cost involved in the construction of a solar dryer is much lower to that of a mechanical dryer. Also from the test carried out, the simple and inexpensive solar dryer was designed and constructed using locally sourced materials. . In this experiment we find that how much moisture removed from the sample which is present in solar dryer and the sample which is present in ordinary air and we compare both of them by mathematical calculation. In this paper we took green chili, some of the chili we put inside the dryer and some in the ordinary air and then compare their moisture removed with respect to time and temperature. We find that temperature inside the dryer is two times outside the temperature. As per our experiment the maximum peak temperature inside the drying chamber is 75\u00b0C during mid-day(3pm) and in an average approximately 60\u00b0C-62\u00b0C in a full sunny day(10:00 AM to 03:00 PM).
